A doula! Pronounced doo-luh. Doulas are trained professionals, providing physical, emotional, and informational support to pregnant people before, during, and after labor. Research has shown that people who received doula support were more likely to have a vaginal birth, less likely to require medical intervention, and were more likely to have a positive birth experience.

Before birth

I will guide you in exploring your preferences around pregnancy and birth, help to navigate your birthing and labor options, ease difficult emotions, and answer all your questions along the way!

During labor

Present with you throughout labor, I act as a source of comfort, reassurance, and advocacy. I am totally focused on you and your needs at every moment, offering massage and suggested positioning techniques. I hold a calm and reassuring presence while helping you maintain a relaxed state of body and mind.

After birth

I come to your home to check in on the emotional and physical well-being of your new family. I provide a nourishing batch of postpartum healing soup and offer personalized support or referrals for your family's specific needs. If you are interested in extended postpartum care, I offer "The Healing Home" program: 6 weekly visits to support postpartum health.
